LOCK ADOPTED FOR RIGHT-HAND LIFT LINK LEVELING CRANK ON JOHN DEERE MODELS "40" AND "40" STANDARD TRACTORS

In response to numerous requests, a positive lock has been adopted for the right lift link leveling crank on the 3-point hitch on Model "40" Tricycle and Model "40" Standard Tractors. Part numbers are as follows:

M2518T Leveling Crank Lock for Model "40" Tricycle
M2519T Leveling Crank Lock for Model "40" Standard

These new locks were installed on production tractors beginning with Serial Nos. 40-72304 and 4OS-67449, and can be used on all earlier Models "40" and "40" Standard Tractors from Serial Nos. 40-60001 and 4OS-60001.

Because the M2080T spring and M2081T detent ball are no longer required, they have been discontinued as replacement parts.

Refer to Figure 2A.

Spread sides of leveling crank lock and assemble over tee joint as shown. Lock must pivot freely on tee joint; if necessary, file or grind tee joint.

NOTE: On Model "40" Tricycle Tractors raise lift arms to uppermost position and adjust rear light to provide clearance between lens and lock.
